Life Extension Organics Microgreens Houston

The Highest Quality Microgreens and Wheatgrass.

Life Extension Organics is a Houston-based provider of microgreens and wheatgrass. Our goal is to maximize flavor profile, nutrient density, and visual appearance.

Why Choose our Products?

Flavor Profile

Incredible
Flavor Profile

Our 'Flavor Enhanced' microgreens result from a perfect combination of nutrients, water, light, and monitoring technology. With your choice of clean or bold flavor profile, they offer a distinct take on our standard micros, which provide more of a green leafy background.

Nutrient Density

Maximum
Nutrient Density

Researchers have found that some microgreens contain up to 40 times higher levels of nutrients than their mature counterparts. Life Extension Organics pushes nutrient density to the limit, monitoring and controlling every aspect of development, from seed to delivery.

Meal Addition

Beautiful
Meal Addition

Delicate, colorful, and perfectly formed, our greens complete the composition of any meal. We supply greens to a variety of high end restaurants and top-tier chefs throughout the Houston area, providing greens which present beautifully with their signature meals.

"Nutrient input drives flavor output."

"Life Extension Organics constantly monitors and tweaks the nutrients in every microgreen we grow in order to achieve the best possible flavor."

The Process & Signature Elements

Multi-Stage Water Purification

Microgreens are incredibly sensitive to and affected by any impurities they absorb, so water purity is of utmost importance.

Life Extension Organics utilizes a multi-stage water purification system which removes hundreds of contaminants from the water - including chlorine, DBPs, lead, harmful heavy metals, asbestos, iron, hydrogen sulfide, and hard scale - this translates to healthier, tastier, and perfectly formed microgreens and wheatgrass.
First Stage
Sediment pre-filters removes larger particles.
Second Stage
Penetration and detergency of organic cells and tissues within each water molecule. Sterilization and increase of oxygen content via magnetic field amplification and KDF redox method.
Third Stage
5 micrometer sediment filtration.
Fourth Stage
Removal of dissolved metals (like lead, nickel, chromium, & mercury), bacteria, and algae.
Fifth Stage
1 micrometer sediment filtration.
Water Vortex
Water Vortex

Water Energized via Magnetic Vortex

Water filtration processes tend to "de-structure" water, and in order to rectify this, Life Extension Organics utilizes a device which magnetically vortexes and energizes the water.

The water produced through this process is more oxygenated with reduced surface tension, thereby penetrating roots more quickly and accelerating nutrient uptake.

Upon observing brix numbers (sugar content, a good measure of crop
health) with a refractometer, we see elevated brix numbers over control
groups.

Organic, Nutrient Dense Soil

Through many trials and experiments, Life Extension Organics has formulated a wide spectrum, nutrient dense soil combination for our microgreens and wheatgrass.

This soil combination allows for accelerated nutrient uptake and provides the perfect formulation of all the nutrients each seed requires for optimal growth, lushness, texture, and flavor.

Our 'Flavor Enhancements' take this formulation even further. With the addition of key earth-derived elements, flavor is able to be targeted into a bolder or cleaner microgreen which is even more nutrient dense than our standard series.

Certified Naturally Grown

Certified Naturally Grown
Seeds
Non-GMO
Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) offers peer-review certification to farmers and beekeepers producing food for their local communities by working in harmony with nature, without relying on synthetic chemicals or GMOs.

CNG producers commit to the following:
  • Absolutely no use of synthetic chemical pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers.
  • Employing holistic practices that work with nature to address pest, disease, and nutrient challenges, while minimizing the use of approved sprays, treatments, and amendments.
  • Using organically produced seeds whenever possible and never using chemically treated or genetically modified seeds.
  • Always striving to enhance the positive environmental impacts of production, minimize any negative impacts, and continually improve the sustainability of the operation.

Health Benefits & Research

[1] Sulforaphane, a phytochemical in broccoli sprouts, ameliorates obesity

"Sulforaphane, a phytochemical in broccoli sprouts, is known to exert effects of cancer prevention by detoxicating chemical compounds taken into the body and by enhancing anti-oxidation ability.

In the present study, experiments with mice demonstrate that sulforaphane ameliorates obesity, the conclusion based on the two junctions of sulforaphane newly uncovered; amelioration of obesity through enhancing energy consumption by browning of adipocytes, and reduction of metabolic endotoxemia through improving gut bacterial flora."

[2] Red cabbage microgreens lower 'bad' cholesterol in animal study

"Microgreens are sprouting up everywhere from upscale restaurants to home gardens. They help spruce up old recipes with intense flavors and colors, and are packed with nutrients.

Now, testing has shown that for mice on a high-fat diet, red cabbage microgreens helped lower their risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease and reduce their weight gain."

[3] Swapping Lettuce for Sprouts and Microgreens Can Help You Meet Several Daily Vitamin Requirements

"According to research by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in which 25 different microgreens were evaluated, all were found to have higher nutritional densities than their full-grown counterparts, including 10 times higher amounts of valuable antioxidant compounds.

Sprouts and microgreens also contain higher amounts of phytochemicals known to protect you against a number of ailments and chronic diseases, including heart disease and cancer.

As noted in "Microgreens: Novel, Fresh and Functional Food to Explore All the Value of Biodiversity," even a few grams of microgreens per day can "entirely satisfy" the recommended daily intake of vitamins C, E and K, based on recommendations by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)."
